Goals

Dennis has pioneered legislation that provides for a common sense, humane approach to this ever-increasing problem of child abuse.  His legislation has been called one of the strongest, most efficient laws in the nation.  He will continue to lead in this area.

The future of Indiana's next generation depends on the quality of public schools and higher education and we must invest our resources now to secure that future. He will work to provide this for Hoosier families.

Avery believes that a crucial task facing Southern Indiana is the preservation of a clean, healthy environment and he will work to see that this is provided for all of Indiana's citizens.

A legislator's job is not just to spend money, but to see that it is spent wisely and carefully. To do this, Representative Avery has worked diligently on the Sunset Evaluation Committee to eliminate waste, duplication and inefficiency. Through these efforts and his work on the Government Reorganization Committee, many millions of tax dollars have been saved.

After years of decay, the highway and road systems in Indiana continue to deteriorate. In spite of the failures of the past, Indiana must take the bold steps necessary to maintain and improve our highway system.

“I believe the people of Indiana House District 75 deserve the best possible representation in Indianapolis. I will listen to their concerns and voice them in the halls of the Statehouse.”

His goal now just as it was when he was first elected is "Serving The People of Southern Indiana."
