Ray was a lifelong resident of Warrick
County and lived on the family farm located three miles east of
Boonville on Two Story Road. The farm has been in the
Bracher family for over
100 years. He is survived by his wife Bettye (Marshall)
and five children; Diane
Lamar, Dennis, Sarah Meyerrose, John and Fred. He was a member of
St. John's UCC in Buckskin, IN.
Ray worked as a school bus driver
for Warrick County for over 30 years. He was the recipient of the
Outstanding Young Farmer Award, a member of Stranger's Rest
Masonic Lodge # 240 F. & A. M., and The Scottish Rite, as well as Past
Master. He was also a former Chairman of the Warrick County ASCS
Committee.
Ray was also a long time public servant, serving
continuously to represent the Warrick County Council's 4th
District for over 27 years, having held that office since
1978. There were few Warrick County residents who
didn't cross paths with Raymond Bracher at one time or
another.
As a
council member Ray worked continuously
for improved roads, economic growth, and better wages and benefits
for county employees and office holders. He was always a strong supporter of better parks for our children and
citizens and also worked to provide more funding and resources for
area Senior Citizens.
Ray strived to constantly work
with
the County Commissioners and his other council members to make Warrick County a better place to live
and raise a family.
