Warrick
County Surveyor
Todd Hudson
LET’S GET TO WORK!
Candidate Bio
- I am Todd Hudson and I am asking for
your help. Our county, our home, needs a Surveyor with the
qualifications and work ethic to perform a job that is often overlooked
and seldom thought about. It has been overlooked because historically it
has been performed well enough to keep it off our minds. This is no
longer the case. The Surveyor’s office and the county have been left
unattended by a well meaning but ineffectual office holder.
I am a lifelong Warrick County resident, growing up enjoying Warrick
County’s bountiful back country by four-wheeling, hunting and fishing. I
learned about our county’s waterways first by seeing them in action
after torrential rains and during our droughts. After attending
Boonville High School, I spent the early part of my adult life farming
and learning the needs of property owners wishing to see their storm
runoff have a place to go. That place is the county’s drainage waterways
and ditches. These have been left without maintenance under the current
Surveyor.
Goals
- The county’s finest and most
knowledgeable people, the people who actually do the work, the proud
members of Operating Engineers Local 181 and my employer, Stemaly
Excavating and others taught me how to correct these problems. The work
I’ve performed throughout the county and the testimony from people who
have come to me asking for help and explaining the drainage problems
effecting their homes, construction sites and farm fields gives me the
hard experience to know where to start serving the county’s needs on the
first day.
- •Well kept drainage systems
so that our properties are usable.
•Keep standing water drained to support our public health.
•Promote economic development by maintaining drainage, keeping
our construction sites dry and our farm fields tillable.
With your help, I will keep the
residential, commercial and agricultural land drained properly, allowing
completion of construction projects, leaving our valuable farm lands
tillable and promoting the public health by limiting mosquito breeding
areas in standing backwater. Of course, mosquitoes pose a threat to both
our families and our livestock. I will also maintain our county’s
section corners to ensure accurate private property surveys.
On day one, we will get to work. Along with the good people who already
work in the Surveyor’s office, I will roll up my sleeves and let water
do what it does best, roll down hill. We’ll clear our county drainage
systems of obstructions so that private property owners can use their
property.
Please vote for me, Todd Hudson, for Warrick County Surveyor on November
4th,
2008 and LET’S GET TO WORK!
